Barcelona Beach Festival, Sonar & Tomorrowland

We like to keep people up-to-date with what’s going on in Barcelona, and in the following post you can find out about a few music festivals taking place during July. We’re giving you a bit of notice for these ones, so if you decide to go, you have time to book a place to stay! Maybe one of your favourite artists is playing, or maybe you just want to go to an event you’ve never been to before. Have a read, and you never know, you might be persuaded to book a trip to Barcelona! 

Barcelona Beach Festival – 13th July

Barcelona Beach Festival (BBF) is an EDM, house and dance music festival on the Mediterranean coast. This one-day festival will have live performances from some of the biggest DJs and producers in the world, so even if you aren’t a fan of electronic dance music, you will definitely know some of the big names that are headlining – David Guetta, Alesso and Steve Aoki. This is one of the biggest European festivals of the genre, so if you’re in Barcelona next weekend, grab a ticket and head to the beach!

Sónar – 18th-20th July

Sónar is an electronic and house music festival. Divided into Sónar by Day and Sónar by Night, there will be more than 100 shows in different venues across Barcelona, with concerts, DJ sets and other multimedia projects. It’s not just a music festival, in fact, it is positioned as a unique, innovative international music event thanks to debates and conferences that will also take place over the 3 days. And, the line-up really matches its reputation as one of the biggest festivals in Barcelona with artists such as A$AP Rocky, Bad Bunny and Disclosure due to perform, among other big names in electronic and dance music.

Tomorrowland – 27th July

Tomorrowland (also known as ‘UNITE With Tomorrowland’) is a unique dance and electronic music festival taking place in Barcelona. It is a unique show because it will livestream performances from its partner festival in Belgium, as a way of uniting Belgium, Barcelona and the rest of the world. Of course, you won’t just be paying for a livestream, there will be live performances from local and international DJs such as Live Frequencies (they will also be streaming a live DJ set from David Guetta all the way from Belgium). This is a really spectacular festival because it combines special effects, artistic production and an impressive line-up of artists, with an extra dimension created via the live stream. This is the first time that Tomorrowland is taking place in Barcelona, and it will be a one-of-a-king experience. Grab a ticket, and get connected with people from across the world when you go to this hybrid event!
