Three Days in Barcelona?

you have some more time and can do everything at a more relaxed pace. You don’t have to rush anything, and you’ll have plenty of time to visit and see what want in Barcelona. these are our suggestions

Day one

1. Visit Parc Güell and Gracia

Park Güell is another one of Antoni Gaudi’s creations. This is one of the places in Barcelona where you can have a peaceful walk and just chill. This park was created in Gaudi’s naturalistic phase. Because the park is located on the El Carmel hill, visitors of the park will have an amazing view of the city. Something you don’t see every day.

When you’re finished with the park, instead of taking the metro/bus back to the city centre, we would recommend you to walk down through the Gracia neighbourhood. This is the place where you’ll find most of the locals who live in the city. It’s a beautiful authentic neighbourhood with a lot of nice and cosy bars and restaurants. Just wander around and enjoy the area. This neighbourhood is nice and authentic and you’ll have plenty opportunities to eat or drink something there.

2. Visit La Sagrada Familia

To keep the day in Gaudi style, we suggest to go to La Sagrada Familia in the afternoon. This beautiful church is also one of Gaudi’s creations you have to visit. It is still under construction, and it will be for roughly 10 more years. But that doesn’t have to stop you from visiting it. Take the audio guide and learn some more about the architecture and the history.

Day Two

1. Visit the Gothic Quarter and El born

The Gothic Quarter is a must visit when you’re in Barcelona. It is so different from the rest of Barcelona that you cannot miss this. This neighbourhood is one of the things that remains from when the Romans were ‘visiting’ Barcelona. That’s why it is still so different to the rest of the city. When you’re there you can visit the Church of Santa Maria del Pi and the Cathedral of Barcelona. It is also just a small walking distance to the El Born neighbourhood. This quarter is also called the artistic area of Barcelona, and when you visit it you’ll see why. You can just walk here and just enjoy the surroundings and atmosphere. El Born is so close to the beach that it doesn’t take a lot of effort to go there – just walk 5 or 10 minutes longer and enjoy the beach and sea.

2. Visit Picasso Museum and Parc de la Ciutadella

While you’re in the neighbourhood of El Born you can quickly walk to Picasso Museum. This museum holds one of the largest collections of Picasso’s masterpieces. After you visit the museum you’ll probably be wanting a break, so you can walk to Parc de la Ciutadella. It is not a long walk, you can just chill there for a while and when you’re done you can also walk down to Arc de Triomf.

Magic Fountain Show

If you’re not feeling too tired in the evening you can go to Plaça Espanya and enjoy the magic fountain show. During the day evening they transform it to something magical. When you’ve seen the show, you can also walk up the stairs all the way up to the MNAC and there you will have an amazing view of Barcelona. Something you absolutely shouldn’t miss!

Day Three

1. Visit Parc Montjuic

In the morning you can walk up to parc Montjuic. This park is located on a hill, so wherever you are in this park you’ll always have a little view of the city. In this park there’s a lot of things to see or do. You can visit Castell de Montjuïc, the Olympic Stadium, the Joan Miró Fundacio, and the Botanic Garden. You can also go swimming there, because there is also an Olympic swimming pool, so if you’d rather go to a pool instead of the sea, this is for you! Enjoy the scenic walk, and at the end you can go to the National Museum of Catalonian Art.

2. Visit Palau Güell or MACBA and CCCB

This a little less famous than all the others famous buildings of Antoni Gaudi, but that doesn’t mean it’s less worth it. It is a building, or a home that he builded for his family. It is located in the Raval neighbourhood. You can take a guided tour, or just use the audio guide and then you will know everything there is to know about this beautiful mansion.

MACBA, or the Museum of Contemporary Art is in the middle of the Raval neighbourhood, next to CCCB. This is heaven for the skaters among us, but also for the art lovers. Every 3 months there’s a new exhibition in MACBA. CCCB is the city’s Cultural Centre. Before you walk in to the building, you will find a big mirror in the square. This mirror will make it look like the sky is falling down.

After these three busy but satisfying days in Barcelona, you will now have seen the best cultural attractions that Barcelona has to offer!
